Today, Tang Qi decided to humour us by addressing some questions posted by fans. The selection of questions are random. She has cautioned that some are spoilers and she won’t answer them, and some will be answered the next time! Do note that the first and second question tend to crop up frequently.

Q: What is Dong Hua’s real form?
A: I have set up Dong Hua as an incarnation born from the essence of Heaven and Earth, his form in the image of mankind.
According to Ancient Taoist Records, Di Jun’s image has always been associated with one thing - silver hair.
In an existing collection of 47 volumes of ancient Chinese myths and fiction known as the <<Shen Yi Jing - Dong Huang Jing>> (神异经·东荒经) or Classics of the Mystic - Book of the Eastern Realm, there is a description of what Di Jun’s true appearance should look like: “In a large stone room within the mountains of the Eastern Realm, the King of the East resides. He is depicted with a head full of snow-white hair, standing at 10 feet tall, his body the form of a man, with the face of a bird, tail of a tiger and sits atop a black bear focused on his surroundings".

Q: What is A Li’s true form?
A: As Su Su was a mortal at the time, A Li takes the form of a little black dragon.
Q1: WIll Nie Yi appear in the Lotus Step Mortal Arc volume or the Immortal Arc volume?
A: It's hard to say, I'll try.
Q2: Will there be any outtakes for Four Acts of a Play (四幕戏 - Si Mu Xi)? There are too little sweet and romantic moments between them.
A: There will be no further outtakes for the book. When it’s made into a TV series, I will sweeten it.
Q3: Is Di Jun & Xiao Bai’s second child a daughter?
A: I think so?
Q4: Is Ye Hua & Bai Qian’s second child a daughter?
A: I think so?
Q5: Is Lian Song’s first child a boy or a girl?
A: I feel we should let nature take its course?
Q6: Will there be scenes of Hua Lou and Yan Chi Wu in Lotus Step?
A: I can’t be sure, it is unlikely in the Mortal Arc but we will see how it plays out in the Immortal Arc.
Q7: When will Lian Song think things through? (I feel like I am asking strange questions, you can choose which ones to reply)
A: Don't ask for plot spoilers.
Q1: Fengjiu is the Queen of the Eastern Realm, but in the book her grandfather wanted to let her succeed the Qingqiu throne. So did she inherit the position? Or will she have to wait?
A: She did not inherit the position.
Q2: Did you plan to abandon the opening story of Bodhi Fate you released recently? The one with Water Marsh in it.
A: I can’t be sure, I will decide when I begin joining Bodhi Fate to the rest of the books in the series.
Q3: In your book, Hua Xu Yin, who is the father of Mu Yan’s younger sister’s child? Is it Jun Wei? Won’t that put Hundred Mile Brother into a difficult position?
A: Yes the father is Jun Wei, Hundred Mile Brother is fine, this little medical saint also has takers.
Q4: I really wish to know if Si Ming likes Feng Jiu? In the book he really took good care of her when she was a little fox.
He doesn’t like her romantically, his true love is gossiping and creating trials for mortals.
Q5. I know Mo Yuan and Shao Wan are a pair, but why did Mo Yuan react that way when he heard that Bai Qian is getting married in Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms? It’s not just me but their names really… match well… (although I still ship Mo Yuan & Shao Wan CP!)
A: This is plot content and will be written later.
Q6: I especially want to know if Lord Cang Yi is doing well presently?
A: He should be doing well mainly due to the fact that his presence wasn’t felt much in the story, Di Jun will not notice him, so he will live a good life.
Q: What is the relationship like between Dong Hua and Mo Yuan? Is it the kind where they usually don’t relate but when there is a crisis, they will not hesitate to help even at the risk to their lives? If their relationship wasn't good in the past, won’t their ties be better by the end of the Pillow Book?
A: The relationship between them has always been passable. Neither particularly good nor particularly bad. It’s just like the relationship between two ordinary college classmates
Q: Is the Councillor in Lotus Step actually Si Ming in the future?
A: No.
Q: Feng Jiu’s beauty is ranked second to her aunt, Xie Hua Lou is also ranked after Bai Qian in looks, so between Xie Hua lou and Bai Feng Jiu, who is better looking?
A: Feng Jiu looks better.
Q: In my lifetime, will I be able to see Shao Wan emerge from her egg? A: If I remain safe and healthy in your lifetime, you should be able to see it happen.
Q1: How did Shao Wan and Zhu Ti get to know each other? Q2: How did they become good friends? Q3: During the Age of Great Desolation, how did the three goddesses save the mortals? A: These three questions pertain to the later plot of Lotus Step so I can’t answer them right now but it will be written later.
Q: Are we able to squeeze in a Tea Party meetup in Tang Qi’s 2020 plans? Is there a chance that all the Pillow Book outtakes and one-shots will accumulate into a little book?
A: With the current epidemic this year, we will feel safer staying home?
It will not be possible for me to publish a stand-alone book containing outtake and one-shots for the Pillow Book. However, when I publish Lotus Step in the second half of this year, I plan to put several into that book.
Q1: Is there any chance that the subsequent story of Di Jun having a second child and the planning of a make-up wedding be made into an animated series?
A: Never thought about it X 1
Q2: Will there be a possibility that an official illustrated book that features the characters in the book ‘Twice Blooms the Flower’?
A: Never thought about it X 2
Q3: Regarding ‘Three Acts of a Play’ - Will you be releasing any outtakes for the story and an illustration of the main characters?
A: Never thought about it X 3
Q4: Is there any hope of ‘Hua Xu Yin’ being revisited for screen play or is the idea too difficult? Any chance of an animated series?
A: Your questions are too difficult. I have never thought about this!!!
(Note to readers: there was a TV series in the works for this book, but Tang Qi either retracted the IP or it expired, this did cause an uproar at the time.)
Q5: Do you still remember your short story, ‘Yi Ping Sheng’? Are you planning on expanding the story or adding additional side content? I wish to promote it a bit as many people do not know about it hahaha.
A: This is unlikely to happen.
Q6: Will we get a worldview of the Three Lives Three Worlds universe?
A: This will happen. Currently, Mi Gu has been frequently providing readers with answers to popular topics. A special collection of worldview and character profiles will be published in the future.
Q7: Xiang Yun’s story structure and set up makes her presence feel limited, Tang Qi, please hurry and let her make her appearance.
A: I'm not in a hurry, are you all in a hurry?
Q: Does Shen An know that it was Song Ning that saved him previously? (Hua Xu Yin)
A: At first he didn’t know, but later he is forbidden to think about it.
Q: Can Shao Wan beat Mo Yuan in a fight?
A: No, she cannot beat him regardless of which angle within the 360 degrees she attacks him from.
Mi Gu, I have a list of questions… I can’t stand it anymore… please choose me… I have read through other fan’s messages 5 times… But these few questions have not been asked, please look into them… I have already kneeled down to you… otherwise… will cutting my heart open work?
Q1: When Mo Yuan conferred Dong Hua as a God, what was his specific title? When Dong Hua was the former master of the universe, how did everyone address him? Will there be any scenes written of the story when Dong Hua was the former master of the universe? There must be a lot of people that needed to be destroyed during that time, right?
A: Di Jun, the Master of the Holy Blue Sea. I have written an outline of how Di Jun became the master of the universe but I did not have the time to refine the story. Let’s talk about it when I have more time in the future.
Q2: After Mo Yuan faded, he came back to life, will Dong Hua come back to life after he fades?
A: Mo Yuan did not fade into nothingness, he just fell into a deep immortal sleep. As for Di Jun... even after I fade, he will still exist. I will not be writing Di Jun fading in my lifetime. You can put your heart at ease.
Q3: Between Mo Yuan and Dong Hua, who is more powerful? Can you explain why Mo Yan slept for 70,000 years after sealing Qing Cang but Dong Hua didn’t sleep at all? Does this mean that Dong Hua is more powerful due to an extra 70,000 years of power? Comparing Mo Yuan and Dong Hua, what class of magical or unique abilities does Dong Hua excel better at? Since Dong Hua was taught by Father God behind closed doors, are there plenty of unknown secrets? Ye Hua ascended to high immortal at twenty thousand years of age with half of Father God’s cultivation. Between these 3 people, Ye Hua, Mo Yuan and Dong Hua, who is more powerful?
A: Dong Hua is equal in power to Mo Yuan, and they are both greatly superior to Ye Hua. Ye Hua is still very young after all. Even if there are various kinds of opportunities open, it is still impossible for him to beat Dong Hua or Mo Yuan.
Q4: Does Dong Hua have any secrets that we don’t know of? Please disclose or give us a partial introduction to the former master of the universe. We only know that he is very powerful, fights well, makes fast decisions to kill and good at vomiting blood.
A: I can’t disclose right now as it involves something that may be written in the future.
Q5: Feng Jiu does not have an infinite immortal spirit. Will Dong Hua seek death if she no longer exists? Please don’t let Dong Hua seek death, I cannot imagine how much grief I will go through if that happens.
A: Uhm, Dong hua’s spirit is also not limitless, they can die together. It will truly be a case of sharing a quilt when living and sharing a grave in death. It will be both a happy and a sad event, a deeply moving moment*.
